THE
GALLERY has a large collection of vintage and historical
photographic art of the city of New Orleansand the surrounding area
with a small collectionof vintage photographic images of Cuba. There
are images representing special events in New Orleans such as "The
Arrival of Rex - 1907" to everyday life in New Orleans in "A
Streetcar Named Desire - 1948" and "The Sample Girls -
1955." Various historical figures are represented such as John
F. Kennedy, Clay Shaw, Louis Armstrong, Victor Schiro and Sweet
Emma with the Preservation Hall Band.
The Current Exhibition is "Daguerreotypes - Photographic
Beginnings" featuring the collections of B. Wolf, Donald Schenck,
and Robert DeBlieux August 6 - September 30, 2005. View
